Canteen Charity Golf Day with BNZ

Swinging for a cause with BNZ

On a beautiful sunny day, Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) members and partners gathered for a day filled with swings and smiles, all to support rangatahi impacted by cancer and the work Canteen does.

The day kicked off with a round of golf, where partners and members showcased their skills on the luscious green grass of the course. Although everyone had their game faces on, there were smiles and laughter all around.

As the sun began to set, the focus shifted from the fairways to the evening dinner, a moment of reflection and celebration. Among the highlights were a speech delivered by rangatahi Member Director Josh McMillan – who has faced cancer firsthand and connected with Canteen to share the tough stuff, and get a break from cancer when he needed it. His story resonated deeply, reminding everyone present of the importance of community and compassion in times of adversity.

However, the night held even more poignant moments with the charity auction. Generously donated items sparked bidding wars amongst BNZ members and partners, with each raised paddle symbolising a contribution towards Canteen's vital services

Auction prizes included a MediaWorks Corporate Advertising Package, concert tickets and a deluxe viynl boxset donated by Universal Music, a BNZ Breakers basketball jersey, a Slumberzone Bed, and many more. We want to say a big thank you to all organisations who donated items to be auctioned.

Members and partners also supported rangatahi during the auction, bidding to sponsor 10 therapy sessions, sponsor a Rangatahi Leadership Camp, and to sponsor our annual CanSurf event.

As the event drew to a close, attendees had not only enjoyed a day of golf and festivities but had also made a tangible difference in the lives of rangatahi impacted by cancer. Their contributions echoed far beyond the golf course, leaving an indelible mark of compassion and support for Canteen.

We extend a massive thank you to Bank of New Zealand and their members and partners for making our Charity Golf Day truly terrific.
