Gold medalist ambassador

We are so excited to announce that the amazing Holly Robinson has joined the CanTeen whānau as an ambassador!

Javelin throwing extraordinaire and 2020 paralympic gold medalist, Holly, wanted to support rangatahi impacted by cancer because of the connection she feels to overcoming challenges and the importance of having a strong support network.

What made you want to get involved and support CanTeen?

“I’m very excited to be an ambassador for CanTeen Aotearoa. Being able to support others during some of the most challenging times in their life is an honor and I am thankful to have an opportunity to support an organisation like this.”

Why do you think you have a connection to CanTeen and the rangatahi we support?

“I believe that everyone has challenges along their journey in life. Growing up with a disability has brought its own challenges, and along that journey, I’ve had some incredible organisations and people support me. The rangatahi CanTeen supports are going through some of the most challenging times in their lives and I know that support is crucial during this time.”

How do you want to support and make an impact on the lives of the rangatahi we support?

“Everyone is different and everyone has their own needs. Sometimes it’s just a friendly smile that can brighten up someone’s day. If I can help and support someone through a tough day or just put a smile on someone’s face, that is a huge win for me.”

We can’t wait for Holly to get involved and help us spread awareness across Aotearoa.
