We are from all over the country and have one goal - to
represent the members and keep CanTeen doing its job by upholding
the values and mission statement.
What we do… we discuss issues arising from
Board meetings and discussions with members, that relate directly
to helping members get the most out of CanTeen. We recommend
changes or additions to CanTeen policies and consider how CanTeen
could better provide for members through its many programs and
activities.
Why we do it… CanTeen wouldn't survive without
its members. We have had support from CanTeen in some form or
another during our journey. We are stepping up to the plate
and having a swing to try and benefit our members for the
future. Seeing things change for the better and having an
input to the future of CanTeen is an awesome feeling. We are
passionate about CanTeen members!
How do I ask the MAC a question… if you don't
know who your local MAC member is, first port of call is your
branch president or a local staff member to get any MAC members
contact details. We are all just CanTeen members like you and
open to any suggestions, questions or comments you may have to
benefit CanTeen. For general MAC queries please contact mac@canteen.org.nz

| Hi I'm Lane from super cool Southland. In my day job I'm
an electrician and over the past few years I've also taken a
leadership role for CanTeen Southland as Treasurer and President
based in Invercargill. My time at CanTeen has helped me find
my more mature and responsible side and provided me with fantastic
growth opportunities. More recently I have been appointed to
the CanTeen Board and I'm stoked to take that another step further
as a MAC representative. The MAC for me is a group who has
put their hands up to give something back, to support and listen,
and give other CanTeen members a voice. |

Hey I'm Luke and I'm doing my 1st year of a grueling
degree in physiotherapy studying on the North Shore of
Auckland. I've been a sibling member of CanTeen almost since
the day I was 13 and loving every minute of it. Over that
time I've been in almost every role at a branch and a couple of
national camp committees. Now sitting on the MAC it's a new
challenge to help members get the maximum CanTeen has to offer from
fun regional activities to the glamour of considering policy.
Being on the MAC is a wonderful opportunity to give members a voice
and help the organization grow.

| Heellloooo! my name is Anna, abz or funsize (whatever floats
your boat) and I'm from the windy Wellington. I've been involved in
CanTeen for a number of years on the Wellington Committee with time
as vice and president. I've even been able to show my
creative side and design a few CanTeen Christmas cards and a
bandanna, so far… CanTeen is like another super cool family
to me filled with amazing people. I'm now helping to put
together National Camp 2010 and I also sit on the MAC and get to
have a say on behalf of members and give back to CanTeen after all
the help I've had over the years! |

| I'm Hamish, a born and bred Wellingtonian and am 22 years old.
I have been on the Wellington committee for about 8 years, and have
been lucky enough to attend HEAPS of national and local activities
over my time. I currently chair the MAC and have been a board
member for almost 2 years! Being on the MAC is awesome
because you get the chance to have real input to help shape things
that actually affect members! |

| Kia Ora, my name is Guy and I've been a patient member of
CanTeen for the last 4 years after I was diagnosed with a bone
tumour in my leg 6 years ago. Soon after joining CanTeen I
was on the Northland and then Auckland Committee after moving down
for Uni. In February this year I was voted to the CanTeen
Board as the new Auckland/Northland Rep! I'm a cycling fanatic so
watch out Auckland traffic, and I like to surf, snow board and
other adventure stuff. I left uni to pursue my business idea
and after 18 months hard labour I've now sold to another company
whom I now work for full time. I enjoy being on the MAC
because it allows me to provide a voice for members in my area and
I can help shape CanTeen policy. |

| Hey Everyone! I'm Catrina from Christchurch. I am 19, a sibling
member and the brand new Board Rep for NSI. I joined CanTeen
when I was 13 and have been on the branch Committee since I was
15. I have held many positions since, such as Vice President,
Secretary, National Camp Committee and MAC member. Outside of
CanTeen, I am in my second year of Law and Political Science at
Canterbury Uni and do karate and indoor netball. I have been
on the MAC since it started and I really enjoy it. I think its fun
because I get a chance to work closely with other members from all
around New Zealand on important issues to do with important people
(members!!!). It's a wicked to have the chance to learn, discuss
and have a lot of laughs. |

| Hey, I'm Andrew originally from the Hawkes Bay and now a
student at University of Otago studying Physical Education and
Commerce. This makes me a little bit of a division hopper
between Otago/Southland and Central but this has also allowed me to
get more input rom more members. I started in CanTeen at 13
and now almost 20. I've been Vice president and Committee
member for the Hawke's Bay and when I moved to Dunedin I became
President and am on the NCC (Nat'Camp Committee) for 2010. I
have been on the MAC for a year and the opportunity to build
confidence, skills and to feel like I'm making a difference is
awesome. MAC is full-on but I enjoy every minute of it. |

| I'm Shannon and I'm from the BEST city in the country,
WELLINGTON! I'm a patient member and I was diagnosed with
Osteosarcoma in 2005. I love my sports - rugby, cricket but
especially TaeKwon-Do which I now teach. Since joining
CanTeen in 2005 I have held many positions such as general
Committee member, Vice President, President and I'm currently on
the MAC and NCC. I love being on the MAC because I am
surrounded by people who are really passionate about our great
organisation and as a group we share a vision of wanting to help
CanTeen continue its success into the future. |

| Hey everyone, I'm Jesse from Auckland. I have been a patient
member for many years and have held various committee roles. I am
currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at
Unitec. I'm looking forward to the new leadership role as part of
the MAC and see it as a great opportunity to participate and learn
more about the running of CanTeen. My goal as part of the MAC is to
help CanTeen continue to be an enjoyable and supportive environment
for members across the country. |
