Leigh Foster

Leigh Foster

06.06.1987 - 07.04.2007

Leigh, your positive attitude to life and ‘calling a spade a spade’ always made visiting you and your family a pleasure and often a surprise! You made an impact on so many people’s lives. I’m certain your service went just as well as you had planned it – your entrance in a helicopter for your farewell was spectacular! Rest in peace, reunited with your Uncle, on the West Coast. You’ll be missed by many, including us. Love, CanTeen (Canterbury / West Coast) xoxo

In memory of our beautiful young man, eldest son, adored and loved brother, mokopuna, nephew and coolest cuz. Herangi you are wise beyond your years, you suffered much, yet showed only strength and courage. Your optimism, beautiful smile and gentle politeness touched the hearts of all those who met you.
We will always be with you in spirit.

Alyssa Hardy

Alyssa Hardy

12.04.1989 - 08.03.2007

On the 8th March CanTeen Taranaki said Goodbye to Alyssa.
A Member who, in her short time with us, taught us how to really
Live, Love and Laugh.
She always gave anything and everything a go, no matter what
stage of her illness. She showed us how to truly love those close
to us, her relationship with Fenella a true testament to this.
And Laugh she did so often, till the very end. We will never forget
that stunning smile.

Our thoughts and love go out to Fenella, Sherryn, Wayne and Joel.

Until we meet again,

23.09.1988 - 16.02.2007

Sara, although your time with CanTeen was short, you had the support of many here.

The journey through the last 14 months of your life was inspirational to all that knew you.

You would have been so proud of how beautifully you were remembered at your service at Twin Lakes, Twizel.

A beautiful pink day for a beautiful spirit. A quote from you in January says it all:

‘Don’t expect anything. The spontaneity of every minute is what life is’

All our love, CanTeen NSI xoxo

11.06.1982 - 30.01.2007

I miss visiting you at your beach-house, and hearing you say “hey-ya, Watya up to”. I wish you had a chance to see your beautiful niece. I miss your simple words and that soft tone when you used to growl. I miss the way you ate on the floor in front of the TV, and your silly giggle, your lanky walk, and that damn thumping music when you pulled up for a visit. I miss our challenge you set for me, while you hooned around on the road. You didn't know how much I love you, but thank you for all the time and patience you put into me. Who you are and will always be to me, is my brother, mentor and best friend.

Na-nyte Buttons, sweet dreams - from your sister Tail

enjoyed his company at Winter Camp 06.

THE SUN SHINES

The Sun Shines
Through the trees
And makes the world
Light up.

That makes the world
Happy, and that’s
The way we like it.

Offering
O god, I reach out to you
As a child reaches for its mother
And like a child I offer you
A special gift of love
It’s something unique
In all history of the universe
There has never been another like it
It’s something of great beauty
Small and fragile, yet amazingly strong
It has all the colours of the rainbow
A gift of shimmering contrasts
And I offer it exactly as it is
Without any wrapping
Because you already know it
Better than I do
So here it is, my God
With all my love and gratitude
The gift you made
The gift you cherish
The gift of me

Sara – we will miss you so much
RIP, Lots of love, CanTeen NSI xoxoxo

Jahziel Natasha Walker

Jahziel Natasha Walker

26.01.1988 - 28.12.2006

Jahziel was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on the 3rd of April 2006 and gave birth to a beautiful healthy girl named Keishana Hollran on the 5th of April 2006. All which changed our lives forever.
We are all so proud of Jahziel for being so incredibly strong and humble throughout her 9 month battle with cancer. She lived life to its fullest, achieving and accomplishing so much in the little time she had.
She’s “The Winner”.
We would like to thank CanTeen, CCF and everyone who helped and cared for Jahziel throughout her time of need.
A very special thank-you to Maree and Jill. You both meant so much to Jahziel.

You’ll always be in our hearts Jessy.
Sadly missed and forever loved by us all.
Till we meet again…..
