Hospital stays

Once you've been diagnosed you'll be referred to the closest main medical centre for more elaborate tests or to start cancer treatment.

Paediatric oncology services are currently situated in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and are provided for children and adolescents up to 15 years of age.

Opened in March 2003, the House has 17 units and provides accommodation for families who travel from all over the South Island for medical or psychological treatment at any of Christchurch's four hospitals.

Ronald McDonald House Wellington

The Wellington Ronald McDonald House sits straight over the road from Wellington Hospital and provides accommodation for 13 families.
