Regional Activities

Each of our 11 CanTeen branches organizes regular regional events throughout the year, like the annual Ski Camp. There are also group outings to local sporting events, nights out at the movies and weekend trips away with other CanTeeners. If you’d like to find out what’s happening in your area, view the events section or contact 0800 CANTEEN.

Good Grief Workshop

Feelings of grief are never easy to deal with. This workshop teaches skills to help you deal positively with grief, and prepares you well for anything life may throw at you.

National Camp

This camp is a great way for new members to mix and mingle, and gather for 5 days of fun, laughter and generally an awesome time. There are also educational and recreational activities that make it an event not to be missed.

'You kind of envisage this group of sick, bald people sitting abound and talking about being sick. But I was pleasantly surprised to see a really cool bunch of people hanging out, who were friends.' - Rachel, Otago

Teen Link

Teen Link teaches you how to communicate with members coming to terms with their illness. It also shows you how to support CanTeeners at home or in hospital.

Leaders Training Weekend

Each year we bring together CanTeeners who have been elected as President or Vice President of their local branch, of which there are 11 branches throughout New Zealand. The weekend course covers leadership skills and responsibilities that help them to do their jobs as best they can.

Art Workshop

This is a weekend event in April where CanTeeners gather to create artwork for CanTeen Christmas cards. The cards have been a successful part of fundraising and generate approximately a third of our income for the year. It’s a fun event that highlights the talent and participation of all CanTeeners involved.
