How we're funded

Bandanas View the full range of christmas cards

It is only through the generosity of the community that we are able to help young people living with cancer.

We do not receive any government funding and we are therefore totally reliant on the generosity of individuals, the community and our sponsors.

Donations

Donations are vital to enable CanTeen to continue its work in supporting young cancer patients and siblings.

Your donation will support our work to provide the following:
- research to increase survival rates and quality of care
- educational and artistic scholarships
- peer support programmes
- grief programmes
- hospital and community support
- and most importantly fun activities

Every $1 does make a difference.

Donations of $5.00 or more are receipted, and are eligible for tax deduction.

Donate online or if you prefer to post us a donation, the address is: CanTeen, PO Box 56-072 Dominion Rd, Auckland 1446, or feel free to contact us on (09) 303 4444 or email: info@canteen.org.nz.

Donations between $5.00 and $1500.00 per year are tax deductable.

Monthly Giving Club

We depend on individual supporters like you to give us the consistent support we need, twelve months a year. Regular monthly giving allows us to plan ahead and respond quickly to the needs of young people living with cancer.

By joining the monthly giving club you become a select group of New Zealanders who are supporting young people aged 13 to 24 who are fighting the greatest fight of their lives.

Donating by automatic payment is an easy and time saving way to support the work of CanTeen. Your chosen donation amount is simply transferred from your bank account as often as you wish. No more writing cheques or sending credit card details. And of course you can stop payments any time you like.

For more information email: info@canteen.org.nz or download the automatic payment form.

Bequests

Bequests can be made in the form of specific dollar amounts, other kinds of property, a percentage of the estate, or all or a portion of what remains after you have provided for your family. Find out more.

Sale of CanTeen Christmas Cards

The philosophy at CanTeen is that our young people believe in helping themselves and a number of years ago they started designing and selling Christmas Cards. This has now flourished into a major campaign for CanTeen each year selling in excess of a million cards each year.

Christmas cards sell for $14 per pack and funds raised support late effects research, support for the newly diagnosed young person, educational programmes and fun activities throughout New Zealand. See this years collection.

Buy a Bandanna

Bandannas are a concept that CanTeeners came up with themselves to promote their organisation. They are worn by members who have lost their hair while undergoing treatment, and by those who want to show their support.

And you don't just have to wear it on your head to show your support - we have come up with 101 things you can do with a bandanna.

Bandannas sell for $5 each (includes postage and handling) in a range of colours and designs. See the current range.

The purpose of Bandanna Week is both to create public awareness of the issues faced by young people living with cancer and to raise the necessary funds for CanTeen to operate.

If you would like to register to help or sell bandannas during Bandanna Week please email marketing@canteen.org.nz with your name, contact details, and the name of your school or business, or how you plan to sell them.
